Empowering Change: Luminous’ Commitment to DEI
Shifting the Narrative: From Limitations to Opportunities
At Luminous, we take pride in having strong women leaders in our senior leadership team. While our organization has strong traditional roots and is bound to follow statutory guidelines that restrict women from working in battery manufacturing at the shopfloor, we chose to focus on what we can do rather than what we cannot. This year, we emphasized on the critical need to change mindsets—beyond policies and systems—to foster equal opportunities for all, internally as well as externally for the community.
Diversity Equity & Inclusion: Foundation of our Success
Advocating equal representation: Empowering women to lead
Luminous Power Technologies has a clear intent to foster gender equality by focusing on leadership representation, particularly ensuring that women have a strong presence in both leadership and middle management. Luminous embeds equality through policies like maternity leave, paternity leave, daycare access and safe transportation. The organisation is commitment to equitable sharing of responsibilities, encouraging more women to enter the energy sector and addressing the gender gap across all levels.
Driving Sustainable DEI & Allyship : Creating a psychologically safe space to grow
While we continue to strengthen our policies and practices to sustain diversity and inclusion, we recognize that true transformation begins with changing mindsets. Our leaders walk the talk and enable a culture where women take unconventional career paths. To support this, we conducted regular sensitization sessions focused on building inclusive workplace, inclusion allyship, psychological safety & working with a multi-generational workforce. The intent is to empower our teams to promote diverse representation & engagement of all genders and generations.
Our Sugar & Spice program has been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. Acting as a trusted sounding board, the program offers a confidential and supportive space where women can openly share their experiences, challenges, and aspirations. Through candid conversations, participants explore critical topics such as women’s enablers and derailers, the importance of reskilling and upskilling, and evolving career expectations. This nurturing environment fosters self-reflection, resilience, and actionable insights, enabling women to navigate their career journeys with confidence and clarity.
Our focus is on expanding the leadership pipeline and fostering inclusive growth across the organization. A cornerstone of this effort is the I-Rise program—a self-nominated, career intentionality initiative specifically designed for mid-career women. I-Rise equips participants with essential leadership skills, empowering them to transition from mid-level to senior leadership roles. Participants report increased confidence, heightened self-awareness, and a structured roadmap to build and leverage their professional networks, all of which are critical to sustained career growth.
Tangible Outcomes: Growing Women Leadership and Inclusion
Through our collective efforts, we have been able to successfully onboard mid-level women leaders into our functional leadership teams, serving as a testament to our commitment to attracting and nurturing top-tier diverse talent across all management levels.
The DEI initiatives at Luminous are not just influencing hiring decisions—they are catalysing a cultural shift where diversity is seen as a business imperative. Our leaders are championing DEI not as a checkbox, but as a strategic lever for innovation and growth. This deep-rooted alignment between inclusive values and business priorities is a defining milestone in our transformation journey.
